Terms of Service

Last updated · July 13, 2026

These terms govern your use of KinWeave. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them.

The service

KinWeave lets you build, import, visualize and privately share a family tree, and ask an AI historian questions about it. We offer a free tier and a paid “Historian” subscription with expanded limits.

We may add, change or remove features over time. We’ll try not to break things that matter to you.

Your account

You need a valid email to sign up. Keep your credentials secure — you are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your country.

Your content

You own the family data, photos and files you add. You keep all rights to them.

You grant KinWeave a limited license to store, process and display that content solely to operate the service for you (including sending relevant portions to our AI provider to answer your questions).

You confirm you have a reasonable and lawful basis to record the information you add about other people, and you will honor legitimate requests from living relatives to correct or remove their details.

Acceptable use

Don’t use KinWeave to break the law, infringe others’ rights, upload malware, scrape or overload the service, attempt to access other users’ trees, or resell the service without permission.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or put the service or other users at risk.

Subscriptions and billing

The Historian plan is billed monthly or yearly through Stripe. Paid features are rolling out; where billing is unavailable, the free tier applies.

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel anytime and keep access through the end of the paid period. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable for partial periods.

We may change prices with reasonable advance notice; changes apply to the next billing cycle.

The AI historian

The AI historian generates answers from your tree and general knowledge. It can be incomplete or wrong. Treat its output as a helpful assistant, not as verified genealogical, legal, medical or financial advice.

Availability and warranties

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We don’t guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet every expectation.

You are responsible for keeping your own backups of important data — the GEDCOM export exists for exactly this.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, KinWeave will not be liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data or profits. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Termination

You can stop using KinWeave and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access for violations of these terms or to protect the service.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; material changes will be posted here with a new date. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
